Foster or forever home wanted, meet Abel! Abel is one of those head scratchers, how such an amazing dog can find himself as a stray in a more rural shelter! But there he was with no collar, no tag, no identification and no one came looking for him. Abel found himself in trouble after sitting in the shelter for nearly a month. Abel actually caught the eye of one of our volunteers that was at the shelter picking up another at risk dog for us. Due to the holiday and nowhere for Abel to go, we left him. Low and behold, a few days later the shelter reached out to us asking us to please help Abel as his time was up. The shelter staff had nothing but praise and glowing reviews of what an awesome dog Abel was. Our volunteer concurred, he was so sweet and gentle, he knew a lot of commands like sit, down and give paw. Enough said, we devised a plan and were able to give Abel his freedom ride on January 2nd! Since Abel is very new to the rescue, we are still getting to learn more about him and will update any new information in the coming days.
