Sweet Circe is looking for a new home! She was adopted in September 2025 from LCCR by a wonderful adopter, but the resident cat said "No Way, I don't want you here." Kudos to the new owner, though, as she tried everything for a whole year to get her cat to accept Circe (with the guidance of LCCR), but she finally waved the white flag. It happens! But it allowed us to see what Circe is like in an adoptive home setting, and she is a sweetheart! She has this low soft chirp that she uses to communicate with you, in combination with a purr and head butts of the fluffy variety. This gal has long hair and she flaunts it. She likes laying on your pillow or next to you. A new adopter should expect Circe to find a hiding spot (under the bed or in a closet) before she starts chirping and asking for human attention. LCCR can put a new adopter in touch with the previous adopter to find out all the little things that Circe likes. One thing we have learned though, is that Circe feels the bridge to kitty cat friendship has been burned, and she doesn't really like the presence of other cats. She doesn't act out (peeing or anything like that) but she will hiss and growl. So our default setting is that she go to a cat-free home. But it's definitely possible that over time, Circe can feel comfortable in a house with other cats who are independent and will just roll their eyes at her hissing and growling. It's just Circe's way of saying, hey, I've got some cat PTSD, so give me time. Circe doesn't mind the resident dog though, that's for sure. Her foster parents took her back and she is just as friendly as ever. She does greet everyone with a hiss (hissing, as her foster mom says, is just part of her way of saying hello), but that is also accompanied by head butts. She is a quirky gal and quite the character, and we love her. Circe was born in August 2023 and is currently living in a foster home in New Cumberland. Circe's adoption donation is $140 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative), microchip, and spay.
