Meet Samantha Samantha came to us already missing one eye, and unfortunately, we don't know how or when it happened. What we do know is that despite everything she's been through, this sweet girl just wants love. ❤️ Samantha is a bigger Dachshund around 20 pounds and absolutely loves being close to her people. If you have a lap, she'll happily claim it! She also shares a special bond with her friend Josie, who came from the same place. She can be a little hesitant with strangers at first and may bark until she feels safe, but once she trusts you, all she wants is affection and companionship. Samantha would do best in a home where someone has plenty of time to give her attention and make her feel secure. She's not much into toys, although she has enjoyed chewing on a Nylabone a few times. She will go into her crate to eat and can be crated when needed, though she'd much rather curl up and sleep beside you. She may bark briefly at first in her crate, but settles quickly. Samantha has not been tested with children or cats since her foster home does not have either. This girl has been through so much and deserves a calm, loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished.
