Susie is a sweet girl who greets the world with a smile and a wagging tail. Despite a traumatic past where someone cruelly set her on fire, Susie embodies resilience and forgiveness. The scars on her back tell a story of courage, but they don't define her spirit. Instead, she craves love and attention, relishing every neck scratch and cuddle. This lovable pup thrives in the company of other dogs, showcasing her playful nature with a joyful bow and spirited zoomies. She has a remarkable ability to read the room; she plays gently with tiny Chihuahuas and matches the energy of larger dogs. With Susie around, you're guaranteed to have a good day filled with laughter and joy. While she loves to play, Susie also knows how to relax. You'll often find her napping peacefully at your feet, content in the warmth of your presence. She enjoys her walks and, due to her sensitive skin, requires a little sun protection—whether it's sunblock or a light shirt to cover her scars. Susie may give you a quizzical look while you dress her, as if asking, "What are you doing, silly human?" Susie is kennel trained and has been progressing well with her potty training. She prefers to eat alone in her kennel, guarding her food with a playful spirit, and is known to sneak a bite or two from her friends' bowls when she thinks no one is watching! This beautiful girl is ready to be a playful companion in her new home, but she would also thrive as an only spoiled baby. If you're seeking a brave, loving soul who's eager to share her heart, Susie is the perfect match for you. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter's expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
